The Mulberry Centre - for anyone affected by cancer Heart

Welfare & benefits information

Cancer can impact so many more areas of life than just health and wellbeing. People’s finances can be hit from all angles; from losing income to increased costs like heating and travel. We can provide information and support on welfare and benefits to which people might be entitled. We can also support with Macmillan Grant applications and signpost you to other potential grants available.

  • The support is currently open to people impacted by COVID-19 as well (patients, carers, bereaved and HNS staff working with COVID- 19 patients)
  • The support offered is with concerns around benefits, housing, debt, employment and others.
  • We can arrange DWP home visits.
  • We can apply for Macmillan grants as well as other grants.

The Centre does offer bookable 1-1 advice sessions with the Welfare and Benefits Lead.  Less Complex information can be provided by client services staff at the Centre.

Where appropriate the Centre can also arrange home visits by Department of Work and Pensions advisers to provide support with applications. The Centre is unable to support with appeals.

This work is greatly valued, as it has allowed many people to claim benefits to which they are entitled at a time of greatest need.
