Our People

The Mulberry Centre has a small team of paid staff who are involved in all aspects of the delivery of our services. Our counselling and therapies and group activities are delivered by a wonderful team of volunteers who are led by 2 part−time Consultants. We also have strong governance with a Trustee body of 11 who bring a wide range of expertise and skills (health, accountancy, legal, fundraising, business, community).

Emma Cartwright

Chief Executive
Full time

Emma is responsible for overall management of The Mulberry Centre and leadership of the team of staff and volunteers. Key roles are: strategic direction of the charity; developing and implementing service enhancements; fundraising and promotional strategy; staff recruitment; development and building relationships with stakeholders.

Lynn Bannister

Mulberry Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Manager (MMCISM)
Full time

Lynn is the primary point of contact for anyone wishing to access the Centre, assessing their needs and guiding them to the information and support that is right for them. Responsible for the library resources and provision of information to users this role works closely with partners in the regional cancer network.

Sarah Oxborrow

Finance and Operations Manager                                                                                                      Full Time

Sarah is responsible for the financial and operational management of the Centre, overseeing among others the Reception, estates & facilities and IT systems. Sarah’s financial role involves ensuring the financial records are up to date and providing key reports to The Board of Trustees and the Fundraising Team.

Mary Davis Stiff

Shefali and Mary support the Cancer Information and Support Manager to provide a comprehensive holistic cancer information and support service within The Mulberry Centre to meet the needs of cancer patients, carers and those bereaved as a result of cancer.

Mona Singh

Community Fundraiser
Part Time: Tuesday and Thursday

Mona is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating a community fundraising strategy to grow the Centre’s community fundraising income. This work includes: initiating and building relationships with community groups; recruiting new fundraising volunteers and participants; and developing a programme of fundraising events and initiatives.

Jo Taranowski

Mulberry Macmillan Volunteer Coordinator (MMVC)
Part Time: Monday − Friday am

Jo is responsible for all aspects of volunteering at The Mulberry Centre, including the co-ordination, recruitment, induction, support and training of volunteers, adhering to the Centre’s volunteering policies. Jo matches the skills and availability of volunteers to the roles available and supports and monitors the impact of volunteering on the Centre’s activities.

Santosh and Danuta provide day−to−day administrative support for The Mulberry Centre’s services, including taking telephone calls, dealing with queries, booking appointments, maintaining the client databases and producing reports.

Mary has responsibility for running the counselling services in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines. She provides guidance and professional support for all our volunteer counsellors in order to ensure that the Centre’s high reputation for these services is maintained.

Nisha has responsibility for running the complementary therapy services in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines. She provides guidance and professional support for all our volunteer therapists in order to ensure that the Centre’s high reputation for these services is maintained.
