In 2003 The Mulberry Centre was recognised by GlaxoSmithKline with a Local Health Award for the excellence of their community health work.

The services offered to the cancer patients and their carers by the Mulberry Centre has inspired a group of women to form a voluntary group known as Trinjan in April 2004. They have been supporting the Mulberry Centre ever since by raising funds and increasing awareness among the local community.

"The Mulberry Centre has very warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages the Trinjan members to attend their monthly meetings there. Trinjan has developed a long lasting relationship with the Mulberry Centre".
